Genealogia 
Esta raza es tambien conocida con el nombre de Isleño y sobre todo con el de Jerezano. Descendiente al parecer de la ciudad de Cádiz y su origen genético se deben a varios cruces entre la Gorguera, la Cotileja y la Rafeña. Según mantienen algunos aficionados antiguos, tiene también una cierta influencia de la Buchona Francesa. Es bastante numerosa la presencia de esta raza en México, Estados Unidos, Francia y Holanda.

Palomo de tamaño mediano, erguido, muy plumón, su pluma es suave y esponjosa. Longitud entre 25 y 30 cm. Su peso oscila entre 200 y 300 gr. Es un animal temperamental, meloso, conquistador y muy volador.

Cabeza: Ligeramente acarnerada, en forma de elipse y estrecha.
Ojo: El color varía desde el azulado y rojo hasta oscuro. Lo circunda un ribete fino.
Pico: Medianamente corto y fino. Las carúnculas nasales son medianas y de forma triangular. Puede señalar verrugas alrededor de la mandíbula inferior.
Buche: Debe ser de forma redondeada, forman un globo con el cuello, dejando ver la cabeza del animal si se mira desde el frente.
Pecho: Debe ser ancho, cubriendo los codillos.
Espalda: Debe ser lisa, ligeramente plana y terminar en albardilla muy plumosa.
Alas: Deben ser grandes, formadas por plumas anchas, llegando hasta el extremo de la cola, siempre sin cruzarse y por encima de ella. Es muy deseable que posea once plumas de vuelo.
Cola: De tamaño corto y poco más de dos dedos de ancha. Durante su vuelo la coloca casi recta, y tanto al entrar como al salir la ahueca.
Patas: Es un animal levantado de patas, finas, rojas, lisas y sin plumas.
Colores: Se admiten todas las tonalidades de plumas, siendo en esta raza la gama muy extensa. Se denominan azules, negros, prietos, tobis, porcelanos, disciplinados, tostados, bayos y chorreados, estos últimos siempre acompañados de su color de base, por ejemplo, negro chorreado, azul chorreado, etc.
